During the pillow fight in the date montage sequence actor JR Wickman's nose was badly cut by his glasses from a blow to the face with a pillow by co-star Kali Stivison.
Principal photography slated for two months ended up being pushed back to seven.
The shoot at the grocery store was brought to a halt when local police flooded the set. Charlie Blount was supposed to be knocked down first in the fight, for continuity reasons he remained lying still. A neighbor near by saw this and called in saying someone was murdered. Director 'Jordan DeNoce' was scolded by the police but was granted permission to finish the shoot.
Although never mentioned in the film the last name of Liza was in the first draft of the script. her full name is "Liza Daniels".
The relationship between Neil and Liza is based loosley on a mix of past relationships of director Jordan DeNoce.
In the date montage sequence Neil Tabor's arm catches on fire when he dodges a kiss from Liza. The gag was done crudely with a wet washcloth under the sleeve of JR Wickman's shirt which was covered in lighter fluid. Director Jordan DeNoce assured JR that he had done the stunt for a short film some years back. In reality it had never been tested, but the stunt went as planned.
Actors JR Wickman and Ken Hodge although appear in two scenes together, have never met. Due to scheduling conflicts their scenes were shot on different days and blended together with stand-ins. Even at the premiere for the film the two never met.
In the highway scene where Neil Tabor leaps from the speeding car he was assured by director Jordan DeNoce that he would drive no faster then 15 MPH when it came time to shoot Jordan DeNoce told actor Greg Hamilton in secret to go double the speed. Although not happy with this, JR Wickman was not hurt by the stunt.
When Neil is watching T.V by himself the audio from the film he is watching is from Tsubaki Sanjûrô (1962) by Akira Kurosawa, Jordan DeNoce's favorite director.
Through the entire shooting of eight months the police were called on the production three times.
An entire plot line (which was actually shot) was deleted where Neil would have dreams he was in a restaurant dining with a womanizing Einstein who would give him horrible advice on women.
Jordan DeNoce was able to get the ambulance for the crash scene by telling the local paramedics he was making an anti-drug P.S.A for a local school district. There is a special feature on the DVD where Jordan DeNoce actually made a gag P.S.A from the footage he shot.
Although the film was "completed" in the spring of 2004 director Jordan Noce was unsatisfied with the finished results of the film and shelved it. In the spring of 2007 after learning a great deal about film editing/theory in L.A., director Jordan Noce re-cut the film entirely.
