Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

None.

Violence & Gore

The local Jewish temple gets bombed; it is discussed but not seen. Hoke describes in detail his memory of a friend's father getting hung from a tree by racists when he was a boy in Macon, GA.

Profanity

The word 'nigger' is used once and there are a few racist or derogatory remarks made towards the Jewish and the Blacks. One use of "I'll be damned.". One "I'll be God-damned." At least six uses of "Oh, my God", "My God", or "Oh, God." One use of "G.D." rather than the whole phrase. One "What the hell."

Several characters smoke cigarettes throughout the film.

Some very mild domestic conflict. Alabama police confront Hoke, calling him "Boy" and making a show of their authority. Miss Daisy gets worried waiting by the dark roadside while Hoke goes into the woods to "make water", but it turns out fine. Miss Daisy's long-time maid dies (of natural causes); you see her briefly in her coffin at the funeral.
