The original version, named "W.A.R", received an X rating from the MPAA because of some "offensive" female frontal nudity. Dave Eddy was hired to cut out the offensive portions as well as remove about 3 minutes from the first reel of the film. It was retitled "Death Blow" from "W.A.R" after some theatre owners who were showing it complined that they thought it was a movie about the Vietnam conflict.
