The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has taken a pass on Sean Penn. Allegations that the Oscar winner kicked and slugged a paparazzo who tried to snap a few shots of Penn at the Brentwood Country Mart have been referred to to the L.A. City Attorney's Office for consideration after prosecutors concluded that Penn's actions didn't constitute a felony. Nicholas Prugo, one of the key suspects in of a series of celebrity-targeting burglaries, was placed in protective custody after a Nevada court errantly shared an affidavit with the media that detailed what the 18-year-old L.A. teen had been telling investigators about the crimes. Interested parties apparently frown on such things, because both he and his family have since been the target of threats, according to Prugo's attorney, Sean G. Erenstoft.
