8 December 2009 12:06 AM, PST
Actor Kellan Lutz wants to sign his pet pooch up for animal showbiz training - so the dog can break into Hollywood.

He says, "I wanna get her on that pet trainer thing. Creature Critics or something, so she can do movies." »
Dad Bans Grant From Making Movie About His Grandfather's War Heroics
8 December 2009 12:06 AM, PST
Hugh Grant has been forbidden from turning his late grandfather's wartime prison escape into a new movie - by his dad.
The Music and Lyrics star is keen to make his directorial debut with a screenplay he has written about his grandad's World War II heroics - but his family has made him promise to ditch the idea.
Grant explains, "My father is very much against it. To him, any film equals Hollywood, equals a sort of sellout. It would debase what was, for him, a very sensitive episode involving a regiment of which his family is incredibly proud.
"There's a beauty to the old regimental system and that's why I want to make the film. It must be in my genes; I've got so many soldiers as forebears."
But Grant's Two Weeks Notice co-star Sandra Bullock insists the actor should direct - soon.
She tells America's Cigar Aficionado magazine, "Hugh would make an amazing director because his attention to detail and obsessive drive to make things perfectly natural are what actors strive to find in a director." »
Lohan: 'Segel Is A Co-worker'
8 December 2009 12:06 AM, PST
Lindsay Lohan has brushed off speculation she and Jason Segel are a new Hollywood item, insisting the Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor is her "co-worker".
The Mean Girls star sent internet gossips into a frenzy after the paparazzi snapped her leaving Segel's Hollywood home on Saturday morning.
But Lohan, who split from her DJ girlfriend Samantha Ronson earlier this year, is laughing about the fact the duo's business meeting has been mistaken for a romantic rendezvous.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Haha. Now a meeting at a co-worker's home has turned into a new love interest! It's absurd! At least I'm laughing at the rediculous (sic) manifestations."
Lohan has recently been linked to both Gerard Butler and Jessica Alba's husband, Cash Warren.
She responded to comments about kissing Warren in a club, stating, "(It's) absurd. He is married. I wouldn't dare kiss him." »
Richardson: 'I Never Imagined Natasha Would Die'
8 December 2009 12:06 AM, PST
Joely Richardson has spoken out for the first time since the death of her actress sister Natasha, insisting a day hasn't passed when she doesn't think of her.
Natasha Richardson passed away in March after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a skiing accident in Canada, and the tragedy left her younger sibling Joely heartbroken and "shattered".
And the 44 year old admits she still thinks about her beloved Natasha every day.
She tells Tatler magazine, "We were such opposites, but completely enmeshed in each other... I hadn't lived a day in my life without her. You worry about your children and your elders, but I never imagined such a thing as this. Tash was a given to me.
"So much of what I am is who Tasha was, and I think, sharing all those formative years, there is level of merging... I cannot imagine that there will ever be a day when I don't think of Tasha."
Fans were shocked when Joely returned to the set of TV movie The Day of the Triffids a day after her sister's funeral - but she maintains she needed to work to recover from her loss.
She explains, "The shock shatters you on a cellular level, and it takes time for the pieces to come back together, albeit in a different formation... A strange autopilot kicks in; your psyche puts your work day into a different compartment from your private life. I'm not kidding - my first shot back on set was reacting to someone dying." »
Braff: 'I'm Not Dead'
8 December 2009 12:06 AM, PST
Actor Zach Braff is fuming after learning a fan was behind a death story that almost became headline news last month.
The Scrubs and Garden State star was the subject of a hoax CNN news report online and had to spend hours convincing worried friends and family members that the prank was just that.
He says, "This idiot... made a CNN mock-up page that was completely realistic that said I had died and he said he was a crazy Scrubs fan and he did it to prank his other hardcore Scrubs fans... but somehow it spread all across the Internet and within, like, hours, everyone's calling me: 'Are you dead, what happened to you?'
"I quickly went on Facebook... and I was bummed out because I didn't get that many 'likes'... but I'm alive, I'm here." »
Bonsall Arrested After Bar Stool Attack
8 December 2009 12:06 AM, PST
Family Ties actor Brian Bonsall was arrested on Saturday after allegedly attacking a pal - only for police to realise he's been wanted for more than a year for another crime.
The former child star, who played Michael J. Fox's little brother on the hit '80s sitcom, is said to have hit Michael Trujillo in the face with a splintered bar stool during a night of heavy drinking at his friend's Colorado home.
Concerned neighbours alerted authorities, who booked the 28 year old at the scene despite his claims he had no recollection of the brawl, according to the Colorado Daily.
A police report obtained by the publication reads, "Bonsall said that he and Trujillo both are bipolar and like drugs. Bonsall said that he takes a lot of drugs and sometimes those drugs make him forget things."
Officials then discovered Bonsall has been wanted since July 2008 after he failed to appear at a hearing for allegedly violating his probation, linked to a 2007 assault charge.
He is currently behind bars at Boulder County Jail. »
Shore Suing Brother
8 December 2009 12:06 AM, PST
Comedian Pauly Shore is suing his older brother over allegations he abused their elderly mother.
The Encino Man star has accused Peter Shore of improperly caring for their ill mother Mitzi, who suffers from Parkinson's Disease.
Mitzi has been "rendered susceptible to unscrupulous behaviour and other undue influence because of her condition", according to Shore's lawsuit obtained by RadarOnline.com.
Pauly has also accused his brother of improperly running their business venture, the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, which their mum founded.
The brothers and their mother are the sole directors of the venue, but the actor claims he was "improperly" removed from the board of directors by Peter, the company's chief executive officer.
Pauly is demanding his brother provide tax returns as well as financial reports from the last 36 months in a bid to correct the situation. »
Stamos Caught Up In Extortion Plot
8 December 2009 12:06 AM, PST
John Stamos is the latest celebrity to have been caught up in an extortion scandal over compromising photos snapped at a 2004 party.
The FBI arrested two Michigan residents on 2 December after they allegedly threatened to release the snaps of the ER star unless he handed over $680,000 (£425,000).
But Stamos went to authorities and helped them snare alleged extortionists Allison Coss, 23, and Scott Sippola, 30, in a sting, according to an affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun.
According to the document, the actor attended a Florida party with Coss and her pal when the snaps in question were taken.
He received an email in November from an unknown source threatening to "harm (Stamos') reputation" by releasing the shots to the media, at which point the star's lawyer contacted the FBI.
An agent posing as Stamos' representative arranged a money exchange with the anonymous emailer at the Princeton, Michigan airport, where Coss and Sippola were arrested.
They were released on bond on 3 December.
Stamos joins John Travolta, Cindy Crawford and David Letterman as the Hollywood stars who have been targeted by alleged extortionists in the past year (08-09). »
Lutz Takes In Stray Dog
7 December 2009 5:31 PM, PST
Twilight star Kellan Lutz has taken in a new pet Chihuahua after finding the stray pooch on his doorstep.
The actor has been on the lookout for a playpal to keep his beloved bitch Kola company while he's busy promoting his new movie The Twilight Saga: New Moon, so he was pleasantly surprised when two homeless dogs turned up at his house.
Lutz explains, "I've been gone so much doing press stuff for New Moon that we've been looking for a friend. Then two Chihuahuas were outside my house. My roommate named them Kevin and Trevor, just random names. Trevor got away, but Kevin, he's really cool."
The actor decided to make Kevin an official member of the family when the Chihuahua fell ill and he nearly lost the pooch to the highly contagious canine parvovirus, commonly known as Parvo, which affects the dog's digestive system.
He says, "We just had him checked out and I'm gonna adopt him. He's a sweetheart but we just found out he's been sick the last couple of days. He has Parvo, which is an extremely deadly disease if it's not treated quickly. So I was in Miami and I phoned my roommate and was like, 'We can't lose Kevin! He's family now.' So one of my friends took him to the emergency room and he's doing better now, so that's great." »

The actor has signed up for the 100-mile challenge, which reenacts the journey Scottish hero Bonnie Prince Charlie took to escape English soldiers in 1745.
Duhamel says, "Obviously they didn't have the speedboats or the dune buggies, that kinda stuff."

"You need more skills than I have... speedboat racing, mountain climbing and rappelling, white water rafting."
The Drambuie Pursuit takes place in May. »
Sedgwick Unhappy With Hollywood Star
7 December 2009 5:31 PM, PST
Kevin Bacon's actress wife Kyra Sedgwick is unhappy with the placement of the power couple's stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - because they're in a "shady" part of Los Angeles.
Sedgwick unveiled her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6356 Hollywood Boulevard in June, inches away from her husband's pavement honour outside a busy nightclub.
But the Born on The Fourth of July actress admits she was less than thrilled with organisers' efforts not to split the couple - because now her accolade will only be seen by stumbling drunks.
She explains, "They put us right next to each other in this shady area. It's right outside of this nightclub... Isn't it wonderful when people stumble out at three in the morning they're going to throw up on both of our stars?" »

The avid golfer reveals TV pundits covering the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St. Andrews in Scotland caught Grant's worst shot and opted not to show it - but he knows it's in their archives.
He recalls, "I lost a ball while putting, and on TV. I was putting uphill, and the ball rolled back down and into a stream.
"The TV fellows kindly didn't show it, but they recorded it."
And Grant admits his temper often gets the better of him on the golf course.
He tells Cigar Aficionado magazine, "There's a lot of club smashing. I once lost a three-wood in a tantrum when I threw it into a bush. Four players and caddies couldn't find it." »

Playgirl publicist Daniel Nardicio has confirmed the publication has received candid photos of an African-American male, but they have yet to determine if the disgraced golfer is the subject.
Nardicio tells Life & Style magazine, "We're currently trying to authenticate the photos before we make any decisions on purchasing the Tiger Woods pics and ascertaining the value."
Woods has become tabloid fodder in the past 10 days after crashing his car outside his Florida mansion and then confessing to "transgressions" following reports he had cheated on his wife, Elin, with a trio of women.
On Monday, it was revealed the Florida State Attorney's office was seeking further investigation into his crash on 27 November. The authorities allege Woods may have been under the influence of drink and/or drugs when he got behind the wheel of his SUV and drove it into a neighbour's tree. »
