Entertainment Weekly talked with Sylvester Stallone about the pivotal, 5-minute scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis for Stallone's The Expendables which we first reported here. Sly talked candidly about the six hour shoot:
Stallone said the superstar-summit scene takes place in a church, where Willis' nasty antagonist has summoned Stallone's macho mercenary to finally meet him face-to-face, take measure of him, and possibly hire him for a death-defying mission. But just as the meeting gets under way and smartass smalltalk is made, in walks another killer-for-hire - Stallone's longtime rival, who Willis has also invited to this job interview: Ah-nuld.
"Bruce says 'Well, there's one other person I want to talk to before I hire you," says Stallone. "And then Arnold, who plays my old rival, walks in. We have a history together. And we go back and forth and I tell him that I should have shot him »

The first trailer for The Expendables made its way online the other week although it was unofficial, unfinished and quickly removed everywhere at the request of Lionsgate.
The movie brings together a plethora of action stars, most notably, those who kicked ass during the 80s. It was shaping up to be a perfect reunion of the stars we loved from back in the day. When we got to see the unofficial trailer, the quality of what we saw sure made it feel like an 80s action flick, which to me was good and bad.
From the footage, we never got to see two big names who we know are involved with the movie: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. Thanks to an Entertainment Weekly exclusive chat with Stallone, we now have some details on what Willis and the Governator will be playing.
EW spoke with Stallone (who’s also directing the »

The first official look at The Expendables has hit the net. Running at over three minutes, the preview shows a plethora of action and a handful of comedy mixed in with the gore and violence. The upcoming 2010 action film, written and directed by Sylvester Stallone pays tribute to the blockbuster action films during the 1980s and early '90s. The plot follows a team of the world's most dangerous and highly-trained mercenaries who go on a mission to South America to overthrow and assassinate a powerful, evil dictator and his army, who have been causing devastation, chaos and torture for the last twenty years. Producer Avi Lerner has reported that the film will be cut down to two versions, a PG-13-rating edit and an R-rated version, both of which will be screen tested to see which one will be officially released. However what's really attracting attention is its all star cast listed below. »

Three of the most iconic action heroes have united on screen for the first time in history. Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger have shot a scene together for Stallone's new actioner The Expendables. EthalMae's blog reveals:
After Arnold, Bruce and Sly went through the scene a couple of times they all 3 headed off to wardrobe and make-up. at 8:10am with three cameras rolling the biggest action icons of our time went to work. I thought it was electric in Brazil when all of The Expendables stepped on set - but today was atomic!!!! the whole crew was mesmerized as we watched the three of them play off of each other in a pivotal scene that sets up the whole movie. And while I can't/don't want to give too much away I can tell you that Arnold's character is Trench and Bruce is Church, the scene was »

Sylvester Stallone's new film will have a scene featuring three action heavyweights in the same scene, and now we have some new details. Ethel Mae's Blog has posted a description of a scene from Stallone's The Expendables which features Stallone, Bruce Willis and current California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was said the scene was pivotal to the set-up of the film, and here's a description of the characters Willis and Schwarzenneger play.
Arnold's character is Trench and Bruce is Church, the scene was shot in an empty church without extras and minimal set dec and it has tension and humor...Bruce and Arnold were consummate professionals at all times - we got through the scene quickly without compromise. In 6 hours we did wide shots, close-ups, turned around...the whole nine yards.

Earlier today, while most of us were trying to enjoy our Saturday, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger filmed a scene together for “The Expendables”. If you’re a fan of action movies, this is like Christmas morning. While the scene in question is just a small part of the movie…who cares! These three action stars have never worked together and even if it’s just for a moment in the movie, this is another reason why “The Expendables” is going to be awesome. More after the jump.
According to ethelmae.com:
We shoot the scene with Sly Arnold & Bruce on Saturday. I still don’t have the location (not that I would share it anyway) but logic dictates it will be in a church in La.
And the news that they were all filming together comes from twitter.com/marialascala:

Just yesterday, a promo trailer of sorts appeared online for Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming macho man action fest, The Expendables. We would have gotten it to you sooner, but as you’ll soon see, it’s not very well put together (editing wise, not the actual footage that Stallone shot) and doesn’t paint the movie in the best light. It’s clearly not a final trailer, but rather a slapped-together bunch of footage designed to give us action movie fans a taste of what’s to come.
So, due to that, we hesitated putting it on the site. But in the end we figured you might want to see it so we have it for you below.
Just keep in mind the footage is Very rough, not edited together as an actual trailer and the music is weak, to say the least.

What do you do when you’re sent a promotional trailer for the largest gathering of action hero’s in a long, long time? Why you publish it of course!
The new promotional trailer for the Sylvester Stallone written/directed action-fest, The Expendables is online – and we have a copy for you right here!
Starring the aforementioned Mr. Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, Danny Trejo, Charisma Carpenter, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Curtis Jackson, Brittany Murphy and David Zayas, the film promises to be an explosive (if not entertaining) thrill ride.
The footage I fear, paints a slightly different picture, with cheesy one-liners (text messages anyone?) and some shaky looking acting, but I still hold high hopes for this film – and will likely do so until opening night!

ComingSoon.net have managed to ‘acquire’ some promotional footage from Sylvester Stallone’s new movie, The Expendables which is out summer 2010. The movie is both written and directed by Stallone as well as him playing the lead. It also stars Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, Dolph Lundgren, Charisma Carpenter, Giselle Itie, Brittany Murphy, David Zayas and Amin Joseph.
The film follows a team of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator. Which I think basically gives them an excuse to blow up as much as they possibly can! Awesome!
I’m not sure how official this footage is so it may well get taken down but enjoy it while it lasts!

Just the final image alone bearing the title treatment and featuring Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Jet Li, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren is enough to sell me on the Stallone written and directed actioner The Expendables, which hits theaters on August 20, 2010 and today we get a peek at a promotional trailer for the film that has just hit the Internet.
