Three New Clips From Tonight’s ‘House’

4 hours ago | The Flickcast | See recent The Flickcast news »

For the most part, medical dramas tend to come and go pretty regularly on network TV. Some stick around and have a pretty successful run, such as E.R. or Chicago Hope, and some are long gone before you can even remember the show’s name, like Heartland starring Treat Williams. Thankfully, Fox’s House falls under the former category.

Now in it’s sixth season, House is picking up steam like never before, and we’ve got some brand new clips from tonight’s episode, “Known Unknowns.” In the episode, House must deal with the perils of the office while away at a medical conference, while Foreman (Omar Epps) treats a returning patient.

In the first clip, the sardonic Hugh Laurie as House discusses his distaste for the returning trend of the 1980s. In the second, Foreman checks out a former patient who goes through some hallucinations that could prove deadly. »

Jesse Spencer Interview: On Future of House's Team and More

10 hours ago | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

While Hugh Laurie (deservedly) receives all the acting accolades on House, Jesse Spencer has proven to be a valuable supporting cast member this season.

His character's storyline arc - which started with taking the life of President Diabla and continues over the next couple weeks when Cameron leaves Chase - has put Spencer squarely in the spotlight. He's handled it well.

Following a World Series-mandated hiatus, House returns with a new episode tonight - and Spencer spoke to TV Guide about what fans can expect from it and subsequent installment...

What's to come? The big stuff hasn't really happened yet. Where the story line is going, the s--t's about to hit the fan. It's the reason that Chase will stay in the hospital and the reason that Cameron will leave. Chase feels he has to stay and face the music — whatever that is... he feels like he has to stay »

House: Preview of Episode 6.7 "Known Unknowns"

8 November 2009 5:05 PM, PST | buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news »

Is House going political this week with this Donald Rumsfeld original? Nope. But on tonight's episode, there are a couple of things we should expect other than the case of the week - which is awesome as well, by the way - more House (Hugh Laurie) and Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) moments and more House and Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) moments. The three will be attending a medical conference somewhere so they spend a weekend away from the hospital. Things will go awry when House's private investigator Lucas (Michael Weston) makes a surprise reappearance.

In a clip, in fact, we see Wilson convincing House to ask Cuddy out, but the genius is not too keen on the idea: "She's not some floozy in a bar, she's a floozy I work for."

Meanwhile, Cuddy and Wilson attend a medical conference for pharmacology and public policy. House tags along, planning to use the outing as an opportunity to push a personal agenda, but things don’t go as expected in the all-new “Known Unknowns” episode of House airing Monday, Nov. 9 (8: »

Rex Is Not Your Lawyer, but he is the Doctor, David Tennant

3 November 2009 10:04 AM, PST | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

I consider this a huge coup for NBC. After traveling through time and space in the Tardis the past several years, it looks like Doctor Who's David Tennant is heading stateside to take the lead in Rex is Not Your Lawyer. Tennant will star as Rex, a top Chicago litigator who becomes so crippled by anxiety that he takes to coaching his clients into representing themselves.

The idea is completely madcap, but I think Tennant has just the right kind of wacky tenacity and cavalier bravado to pull off the role. In fact, it was apparently difficulty in casting the role that delayed the project until Tennant bounced in and nailed it.

It'll be interesting to see what they do about his accent. Tennant is Scottish, but adopted an "Estuary English" accent for his role as the Doctor. I think the Doctor's accent would work tremendously with the comedic role described here, »

What's On: Monsters vs. Aliens Target TV's Mutant Pumpkins

28 October 2009 2:50 PM, PDT | Movieline | See recent Movieline news »

The Counting Crows once sang "We all want to be big stars," and one of the key reasons for that is the easy voiceover work. You show up at some recording studio in the valley for a couple days, knock out your lines while wearing pajamas and then just wait for the junket. Tonight, the Monsters vs. Aliens crew (Reese Witherspoon, Will Arnett, Seth Rogen and Hugh Laurie) reprise their film roles in a 30-minute Halloween special that will air on NBC. And this time, no junket! »

[TV] Black Adder Remastered: The Ultimate Edition

27 October 2009 3:01 PM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

If it doesn’t already, it should sadden you that Rowan Atkinson’s most well known role is Mr. Bean. Sure, attempting to remove your underwear in public has its comedic merit, but only if you’ve never seen Atkinson’s stupendously idiotic turn as the self-appointed Black Adder in the times of olde. The series spans different eras with each of the seasons taking place in a new one. Then, to further the adventures of the unfortunately inept title character, three of the specials created after the series’ conclusion are included on their own disc. It’s not the first “all inclusive” set to be released but it does a good job rounding up most of the extras that have been created for the show over time – though true Black Adder connoisseurs will notice that some of the smaller events (The Shakespeare Sketch in 1989 or the theatrical show Blackadder: »

Can Cast Revival Cure Fox's 'House' Monotony?

26 October 2009 8:24 AM, PDT | BuzzFocus.com | See recent BuzzFocus.com news »

I have watched every episode of House M.D. since it started in 2004. It’s nothing I brag about. It’s nothing I’m incredibly proud of, but I do continue to watch it. I continue to watch it for two reasons. Hugh Laurie is a great actor, even beyond his ability to voice an American as if he’s lived here his entire life. And because when the show is on its game, it has a good sense of humor, despite its scenarios being miles beyond anything that would constitute reality in today’s lawsuit-crazed society. And occasionally, Laurie gets a truly interesting secondary character to play with. Outside of that, objectively speaking, the show is rubbish. For five complete seasons, the formula has been almost identical. The crew is presented with a thought-to-be unsolvable case. They all, including Dr. Gregory House, make a series of failed attempts at diagnosing it, »

CinemaSpy's Week-End TV Recap (Oct. 24)

24 October 2009 9:00 PM, PDT | CinemaSpy | See recent CinemaSpy news »

Our reviews for this past week are down a couple of shows, thanks primarily to baseball. Fringe was a no-show on account of the former, and Supernatural offered us a repeat of this season's premiere.

That said, we've got some new entries in the mix, which we'll be continuing as well. Blaine Kyllo chimes in with his thoughts on this past week's episodes of House, 30 Rock and Dollhouse (the latter of which returned to the airwaves after a one week absence).

With choices reduced on account of America's favorite pastime, viewers had a second look at shows they might have otherwise missed the first go-round, in their quest for something to watch, and this benefited FlashForward, which earned its best audience since its second week, picking up a 6.2 rating/10 share.

Meanwhile, according to the stats, Fringe, which has been a big ratings loser in its sophomore season, saw an uptick the week ending Oct. »

DVD Weekly Roundup – Mon 26th October 2009

Drag Me To Hell

Finally Sam Raimi gets back to what he does best. A damn good splatter-fest that is as funny as it is scary. Alison Lohman turns in a brilliant performance as Christine Brown, a normal young woman who works at an L.A. loan company. After she refuses the mysterious Mrs Ganush an extension on her loan to impress her boss she finds herself on the receiving end of a very nasty curse that transforms her life quite literally into a living hell. Asking for help from a psychic to reverse the curse Christine finds herself in a race against time and in the end she has to choose exactly how far she is prepared to go in order to break the spell.

This is fantastic filmmaking. It moves at a break-neck speed and offers moments that will make you jump miles off of your seat. Forget Spider-Man 4, »

How Surprised Should We Be By Good Acting?

22 October 2009 5:32 PM, PDT | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

While watching House the other day, I was once again struck by just how great Hugh Laurie is. I'm not the only one -- he's been nominated for a bunch of Emmys and won a few Golden Globes. People rave about his talents, and the way his accent seems to disappear without a trace. We're mesmerized.

But should we be? I mean, how much shock and awe should we feel towards actors who are simply doing their jobs well? The more I think about it, and about Hollywood in general, the more it seems like we've been conditioned for badness. Pull off a halfway decent accent and we'll be pleased. Cry in a realistic way and we'll buy it. Make everything look real and we'll be putty in your hands. But wait ... isn't that their job?

Of course, entertainment is an emotional business designed to push our buttons, whether those buttons be happiness, »

House Review: "Brave Heart"

20 October 2009 5:33 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

While Fox promised one of the strangest cases in House history this week, we're pretty much numb to any professional surprises on the show at this point.

But the pair of personal storylines that lingered last night were intriguing.

First, Jesse Spencer is going an outstanding job with Chase's Dibala dilemma. We do hope his character reveals the secret to Cameron on the next episode, however, as he's clearly so far over the line that it's not realistic for it to remain kept from her.

It's also interesting to see how this will lead to Jennifer Morrison's exit from the series. Will she simply leave her husband when she learns what he did?

Read a full recap of events from "Brave Heart" now.

As for House, we could watch him interact with Wilson for hours.

For the first time in years, the character is clearly evolving, as he may »

Scream 2009 Recap: Reign of the Vampires and Space Crews

19 October 2009 9:11 AM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

True to its name, the Scream Awards is an award show where the winners are decided by the biggest scream, like talent shows of olden days, before text messaging and toll-free numbers were invented. In this case, Scream winners are decided by internet votes. It's not surprising to then see current trend-grabbing vampires dominate the show; but the awards, it seemed, are secondary. The highlights of the night are all the honorary awards, celebrating the legends of their own mediums.

It was a little disconcerting to notice that the award winners were all telegraphed by the adoring cheers of the audience, too. The more enthusiastic the cheers, the likelier for that person to win. Vampires are definitely in this year, with notable appearances/wins for Twilight, True Blood, The Vampire's Assistant and Let the Right One In.

The most telling part of the award show being entertainment first-recognition second is »

Watch Out for Mutant Pumpkins, Charlie Brown

With no kids of my own, I really have no idea if It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is appreciated by modern audiences or if it's just my generation that gathers around the TV each Halloween season to watch it one more time. If your kids (or the kid inside you) complain there's nothing "cool" to watch, how about checking out Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space?

NBC is airing Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space on October 28th, and according to Collider, the special features the voices of Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Kiefer Sutherland, and Rainn Wilson, all of whom appeared in the original film.

5 Clips from Monsters Vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space Airing on NBC October 28th

16 October 2009 1:00 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

NBC is airing a sequel of sorts to DreamWorks “Monsters vs. Aliens” on October 28th.  It’s called “Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space” and the special starts after the events of “Monsters vs. Aliens”.  It’s sort of like a Charlie Brown Halloween special, except it’s with the cast of “Monsters vs. Aliens”.

Anyway, while I thought the concept of “Mva” was cool, the film just didn’t work for me.  The jokes were all over the place and except for the one great action sequence in San Francisco, I thought the movie was a wasted opportunity.  Saying that, I liked the characters, and if they were to come up with a better story, I’d be up for a sequel.  I just don’t know if this NBC special is it.  But if you loved the movie and have been waiting for more adventures with the monsters, »
